I've stopped chasing that dragon. No Quake experience is going to compare to playing Q3A back in the late 90s until 2 in the morning.
Like most genre defining games or media, Quake isn't even that good when you revisit it. It served it's purpose to help set the initial bar of multiplayer death match and now they just need to let it die in peace.
