Only scrubs salvage tin cans. Pros collect thousands of caps in rent from settlement store owners and buy junk shipments from vendors in Diamond City and Goodneighbor. This is the rough equivalent of the Creeper money printing machine in Morrowind.
Or if you don't care about leveling or achievements anymore, use god mode.
