I wouldn't be so sure, Sim. First comes the general purpose slave bots, and then the sex slave bots. Or maybe it's the other way around.
As the capabilities of machines grow, so will the population of unneeded people. Sure, there exists the possibility to increase the quality of life for the common chum, possibly enabling the elimination of loveless labor and toil, but I suspect the more likely scenario is the reduction of the population that sits between the elite and the bottom rung of humanity that have to do the bit of labor that is too lowly even for the robots. The elite class will grow to include some of what would currently be the upper-middle class that make the whiz-bang bots happen, such as engineers, scientists and program managers. They'll be satisfied with their yachts and supercars afforded by their bigger piece of the pie, and few tears will be shed for those on the other side where the grass is browner.
