ah, i keep forgetting the 4790 actually is a different cpu
but as far as actual switch flipping goes, the planar is pretty solid. tried and true, very uniform and serial. the 3d nand of the 4790 only seems to facilitate better electron flow, as in fewer electrons, but as to the actual mechanism of the flip, the old planar may actually be faster than the 3d nand! haha!
