RE: Godzilla 2016 and 2019
Shin Godzilla is real neat-o, I saw it some time ago and had a great time. It's a bit on the nose with being an allegory to the Fukushima accident and the government's slow response afterwards, but it has a fire breathing, laser firing Godzilla in it so that's fine.
It helps the film was co-directed by Hideaki Anno, who is no stranger to blowing everything up and turning humanity into goo as seen in the Evangelion series.
