As a half-baked lite shooter/rpg, it's all right but has the usual Bethesda bugs. The best thing about it is the care Beth took in hand-crafting the world down to the minutest detail. It's common to see impressive and bizarre things in places most players will never visit.
The building/crafting aspect, I think, began as a marketing gimmick and was only half-finished. I don't think the company expected anyone to get as enthusiastic over it as I am (precisely because it's so flawed).
FO76 will be a giant poopfest. With all its weaknesses, FO4 is probably the last true Bethesda open-world SP game.
