very simple device
i wanted to fix our old one from 1982, it was a beast, but the roof to our place is much too high and dangerous. i would bet dollars to apples that the old one had its rubber compressor belt rotted off, or some rubber type component like a hose got rotted
but your AC is a different affair.
very simple to fix
