It's all right to finish HL2 first, but put the expansions aside for another day. The only reason to complete the content of FO4 is to collect every Picket Fences magazine you can find and start the settlement building endgame. The content of the Far Harbor DLC is rubbish, but you get new building stuff (barn pieces, etc.). I don't recall whether Nuka World has new building stuff, but the content is better than Far Harbor. Automaton is funny and lets you build robots. Vault-Tec doesn't have much content, but it lets you build a vault. The other DLCs have no content but add neato building mats (e.g., manufacturing, warehouse pieces, etc.).
I just read that paragraph and realize how insane I've been. Maybe you should stick with EVE Online.
