I don't know if this will be the case with Blood, but Nightdive handled System Shock in a way to satisfy both purists and those looking for a more modern take of it, by releasing both a version of the original with engine updates that allowed it to run on modern systems, as well as an upcoming fully fleshed out graphical remaster running on UE.

Also of note is that you can already play Blood on modern systems by running it through BloodGDX. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up contracting this source port if they do an enhanced edition of Blood, as it's exactly what they did with the re-release of Strife: They just nabbed the Chocolate Strife project and its developers for the Steam port.
