RE: Does anyone like Aquaman?
So we have an annual Christmas tradition of getting together while everyone is in town and seeing the latest Star Wars movie no matter how terrible it is. Sometimes it requires immediate inebriation afterwards to wash it out of your brain. This year was a bit of a let down since Disney already released their latest abomination in that universe early in the year. As you may have guessed, now we're stuck with Aquaman.
Initially disappointed, I actually think it may be an entertaining movie for what it is. After watching a couple of their 20 minute long trailers, it appears they're throwing out the dark/gritty/brooding mood for this one and going with much more of an Indiana Jones adventure type affair. Combine this with the fact that you get to see Patrick Wilson riding on giant seahorses that fight shark armies, and I'm not really sure what there is to complain about anymore. The movie realized ahead of time that nobody would take it seriously so it joined in on the fun.
In other super hero movie news, Brightburn looks interesting as well. If I'm understanding the flow here, James Gunn got fired from the PG Rated Marvel Universe and ran off to produce a horror movie about Superman. I mean, it doesn't say it's Superman but... come on. This is Superman, right? Just don't tell that to Warner Brothers.
