I remain interested in the 2008 bailout
Most people don't realize how close we came to the worst depression of all time.
Imagine being in the shoes of Hank Paulson, Ben Bernanke, and Tim Geithner. The whole country thinks you're scamming Congress to enrich your little 1% cabal when in fact you're trying to save the world.
When I get sour on the United States, I remember the moon landing, winning WW2, and the 2008 thing.
Did you know that it took Paulson throwing up in a waste basket to get Congress to move?
Also, W. wasn't as dumb as people thought. He's a pretty sharp guy.
Of course, none of this would have happened if they'd all been more attentive about turning housing into a predatory investment racket.
