Poker rooms are "meh" at the casino. They're full of middle aged/old people that take themselves way too seriously and bitch about everything, or younger morons who think they're the next poker "super-star". It's much more fun to just play with friends, or at a less serious venue. Combine that with the fact you usually have to sit around and wait a half hour before you can even get a table and it all starts to become a chore.
Still though, the casino is fun once in a great while. Back when I went to more Tiger's games I would sit and play while I waited for the game to start, then walk down a block to Comerica Park.
