Civic and Accord are always good choices. I would take them over a similar class toyota.
The Mazda 3 is also alright. I haven't heard anything about the materials they use. So whether it's crap, or not, I dunno. I wouldn't think so, however.
And you're right, that nissan cube is disgusting. The kia isn't anywhere as FUGLY.
