Subject: RE: FileZilla

Filezilla use to hang my router when I would use it to try to backup my xbox harddrive. I guess I could blame it on dd-wrt, except when I would try a different router, it would crash that one as well. Every other ftp client worked fine. It looked like it was trying to traverse every single folder (there were thousands of them) to get an estimate of how much time it would take to finish, and there was no option to turn it off.
The only thing filezilla is handy for is SFTP. The UI is clunky and the stable releases they put out are always full of blatant bugs (not refreshing folders properly, downloading corrupt files, etc.). They eventually get fixed, but they also usually find their way back in again.
It's usable, but it's far from being the best ftp client.
