The thing with battery waste is that if you *wanted* to, it could be disposed of in a far away place. That's something you can't really do with a gas.
Also, I didn't know the batteries are warrantied for 100k miles, and that they cost $1500 to replace. Both are pretty reasonable.
I had a car like the Tesla before. It was a Power Wheels.
