A chunky lighting system would have been more interesting for Warlock, as the juxtaposition between it and the rest of the graphics does look a bit harsh in action, at least it did for me as I played through it.

For all its merits, Warlock does have some things that annoyed me. This is the developers first game so there's technical issues that take a bit of solving on the user's side, in particular: It's a Unity game meaning that it defaults to borderless windowed mode and that means the slightest tinge of input lag from the mouse, which is usually fine for most people but for a twitchy dumbass like me it's not gonna do, you can fix it by replacing a library file and using a command line switch so it's not too bad. The other thing is that mouse looking sensitivity is tied to framerate, so if you've got it setup the way you want it and your fps fluctuates above or below a lot, your mouse sensitivity will as well. Hilariously, lots of people have told the dev about this and his response was that he has no idea how to fix it and needs help to do it.

Lastly, the game relies too much on rear monster spawn traps and monster closets for its ambushes. The music is also hit or miss, some tracks are really good, other tracks sound like they came off one of those 150,000 MIDI Songs For The Heartbroken cds.
