Daikatana gets better once you get past the first episode, then you get to the 4th episode which is amazingly even worse than the first.
There's a couple of absolute heroes doing their best to improve Daikatana through what they've dubbed Daikatana 1.3, with one of the more notable features being the ability to play without the AI partners. A feature so important towards making this game playable, the speedrun for the game requires that you enable it lest your time is invalidated.
