Some people believe that you don't get the same experience with adapted games. They were meant to be played on the hardware of their time -- Voodoo cards, 4:3 CRT monitors, old Sound Blasters, etc. Also Windows 95/98.
They remind me of people who prefer vinyl records. Maybe they're right. In any case, they could pick worse hobbies.
