RE: Google Game thingy
Is there a price on the subscription yet?
As far as it boiling down to internet connection speed, that's what's most concerning to me at the moment. I think I read/heard that they've tested it at 60FPS with lower 25 MPS at 1080 resolution, which if true is completely insane.
What it fails to reference is any input lag as there's definitely going to be some delay when playing games that otherwise require precise timing.
That said, if they deliver a streaming service on any device with 60FPS on those connection speeds, I'd be in even if the subscription cost was $20 a month. A new console or PC is going to run $500 - $600 for the hardware alone, and most probably average a 3 to 4 year lifespan before it's worth upgrading again if you're a nut about performance.
Also, the fact that you can jump right into a game with zero load time (as demonstrated in the live demo they did) might sell me on it alone. 90% of the reason I don't touch games anymore is due to the 10 minute ordeal of turning everything on and loading everything up.
