This could be totally feasible for stuff like XCOM2 and Battletech, don't forget. Any kind of turn based game could be absolutely brilliant on it.
That said, isn't Valve working on doing this now, since they finally need to be competitive again? Hopefully they could get something like that working well and deal with a lot of the issues Sim brings up with no modding, etc.
