Subject: My new enthusiasm

I don't know a wrench from a hammer, but on a whim, I started watching home repair, DIY videos.

Don't do this.

These things are hypnotic. They will take over your life. You'll spend hours watching people replace door locks, dig up back yards to fix mysterious leaks, build elaborate storage sheds, and on and on. One of my favorites is April Wilkerson. It's not because she's a girl. It's because she learns about everything and just builds it -- carports, electrical wiring, even her own lumber mill.

But my all-time favorite is this character. He doesn't do anything outlandish or even very interesting. He just goes about his business, sharing his day-to-day experiences and tacitly reminding me why I should never try to be a contractor or handyman. I'm watching him every day now. Far better than anything on TV and most things on Youtube.
