Subject: RE: I've also been playing the original Diablo

Even just running through the dungeons and killing stuff doesn't much grab me, either. I feel like the game is overly complex, where I'm picking up ridiculous amounts of loot, so it doesn't become immediately obvious if something is better or not and I have dozens of items to look through to figure out if it's trash or not.

Inventory management is no longer a thing: No need for scrolls of any kind, potions, etc. All the items take up the same amount of space, so I'm not making any decisions when it comes to how to organize my inventory and what to carry or when to head back to town to clear things out.

I barely need to pay attention to the game: I'm playing on Expert, but as long as my Barbarian has rage, I just hold down my right mouse button and twirl through everything, without really watching anything that's happening on screen.

There's tons of guff: I really don't like/care about crafting in games, but it feels like Diablo 3 really wants to push me to craft shit, with the seemingly dozens of NPC's that are dedicated to crafting various things. It feels way less focused than the original, with all this extra stuff just tacked on, desperately wanting me to pay attention to it.

Then of course, the story. Gosh do they want me to pay attention and care; rather than being window dressing to provide some context for what I'm doing, it's one of the primary points of the game.

I'll probably jump back in and see if it'll grow on me, but those are some of my issues with it that I'm noticing right off.
