Yup, those Sandy Peterson Levels are terrible
Never really noticed or had a name for them in the past, but I've been playing through Doom II for the first time recently and god damn are there some shit levels. I just worked my way through Level 7: Dead Simple and am now on 8: Tricks and Traps and boy are they shit.
Just big arenas with tons of enemies and difficult for the sake of being so. Doom Episode 1 is still the best of the Doom series.
