Why I don't want remakes of Build Engine games
1. The physics in later engines = suck. Blood had the best player-character physics of any game ever made. Duke and Shadow Warrior weren't bad either.
2. For some reason -- limited resources or whatever -- Build Engine games inspired excellent level design, both in terms of map layout and general architecture. The look and feel were lost in later games.
3. Build Engine games used color in creative ways. Again, maybe this was owing to limited resources, but I loved the way bright colors were used. Later, everything turned to gray and bilious green, which may have to do with why every game had 1500 sewer levels. In Blood, even brown looked good.
I could think of other things, but this should sell.
