I have also finished The Demolished Man
Boy is this book a product of its time.
Maybe it's difficult to appreciate it some 70 years later, because it's a progenitor, but it was...ok. It kept me reading, which I can't say for a lot of books, but it definitely feels meandering at points and the way the women characters in the book are treated is definitely a product of its time. The way Barbara and Powell interact is just straight-up creepy and faux-incestuous.
Tried to read Radix before Demolished Man, but didn't get any further than the Kindle sample; couldn't get into it.
