If it's not one thing, it's another
Putting some new brake pads on my Jeep this afternoon while I've got baby sitting and of course, I can't get the caliper to compress the entire way, so I need to run to the hardware store to get a giant C-Clamp to compress them.
I do that, things go back together nicely and as I'm tightening up the top caliper bolt on the drivers side, something gives and suddenly the caliper bolt won't tighten. It just spins in its place and doesn't go in any further or tighten at all. After some investigation, I'm pretty sure it's the guide pins that go into the Caliper.
I was hoping this would be a quick job and I could get this all banged out in the 4-hours I had the babysitting, but now it's time to go pick up the boy and the Jeep is still partially apart. At least it gives me an excuse to go to the auto parts store and spend more money, I guess.
