i suppose one could describe dicks character as hardboiled,
which is funny considering his radiation exposure and premature death shared simultaneously with john wayne
no but seriously characters like this are just not made anymore
these movies are a goldmine of entertainment.
i dont consider them captivating or even as any type of art, because all movies are quite stupid to watch. just the act of watching any movie and digesting any of it seems impossible to me now. even the good ones.
but these classics are really the only few i would consider only as "watchable" which in itself is something, at least
yes video games are certainly stupid too but it takes a special ability to fool yourself into playing them
...to consciously fool ones self...
