Subject: RE: Two things

Good to know you've found work, something in your field I hope?

Ion Maid- er, Fury is the first FPS game in a long-ass time that is actually making me work for it on the hardest difficulty, which I very much appreciate. My only complaints are the same I had from the early access campaign: Lack of a proper rocket launcher, the weird feel of mouselook which is a problem rooted in eduke32, the shotgun not feeling punchy enough, and that performance seems off whereupon the game says it's running at 140~200 fps but it still feels somewhat choppy. To pile on an extra complaint for the finished game: The environs in general are a bit same-y, at least compared to the diversity in Duke3D/Blood/Shadow Warrior's different episodes, there's a ton of city spaces and an equal ton of sewers.

The pluses far outweigh the negatives: Maps are gigantic and beautiful but at the same type have great flow and you'll rarely get lost in them, it feels exactly like a build engine game from the 90s would, the music is a great mix of FastTracker 2 tunes, gunfights are fast and mobility based where dodging attacks is easy if you keep moving but they do a lot of damage if they hit, and the tone of the game is just right.

So yes, I'll give it a recommendation to anyone who enjoys a good, old fashioned shooter.
