Subject: RE: jeffrey pine

no, actually, i enjoy posting about it because its something many people do not know

another feature of the jeffrey pine is its ability to put out fire
this makes the tree rather unique, and by rather, i mean very
though my fondness of the tree is purely antithetical. only some of them look the way in which i describe and they are very hard to find in real life and more so online. also, the tree is quite large, not as large as a sequoia or redwood, but certainly larger than anything on the east coast and just about all other trees on earth.

but anyway, this tree also has the habbit of popping its bark off at just the right moment to avoid death in a fire. the bark is actually a unique mechanism which is specifically evolved for this. there is actual form in design. the pattern of the bark is sort of like a python skin, in where the pattern has sections which pop off. it does look sort of like python. but the pattern itself on some of the trees is really more impressive than the design of python skin. though its hard to imagine this given all the pictures of this tree on the internet.
of course, if the fire is raging to a degree where a mile high cyclone is created with fire driven lightning, then, of course, no bark will save it
