Paint chemistry
As a kid, if I wanted to paint a model (sometimes I didn't), I would just buy the little bottles of Testors and a cheap brush or two. Everybody did this unless they got ambitious and sprang for Testors canned spray paint. That's all there was, really, or at least that's all anyone commonly knew about. Sort of like how the only cement was Testors smelly, messy airplane glue.
Nowadays, people use airbrushes, and there are 60 zillion different kinds of paint. This is a point of frustration for me because I know next to nothing about all these choices or how to use them. I have scoured Youtube and other resources for primers, but they're usually not very good. Thank goodness for Will Pattison and his excellent modelling fundamentals series. Today I would like to share his instructive discussion on paint chemistry. It's exactly what I've been looking for. You may think it's not relevant in your life, but you're wrong.
