That's a perfect fix to the Steam Controller, Cows. I have one that sits, unused, because I just can't be bothered to really get that acquainted with the trackpad; but a little trackpoint styled nipple? Fucking perfect.
On the New 3DS, they have that in place of a second analogue stick and I find it works pretty flawlessly. I've played through almost all of the original Quake with that method and it feels nearly as accurate as a real mouse.
