Okay, those guides, again, assume you're playing Seasons. If you're not, here are some things to note:

1. If you have to play the campaign, use Normal or Hard difficulty. Any higher than that and you don't really get enough extra XP to make much difference. It's better to kill things fast and get done.

2. Save your money and crafting mats. You will be tempted to use the merchants early on, but don't. The game will give you everything you need if you're patient. Save your money so you can upgrade the crafting NPCs. Save your crafting junk so you won't come up short early in the game.

3. Attributes like Intelligence, Strength, etc. add up for both damage and protection. For example, a wizard's Intelligence adds more base damage as well as every kind of resistance. A barbarian's strength contributes to both damage and armor. This will be important when you start getting sets and higher level gems. A wizard's socketed armor should be filled with topazes. A barb should use rubies.

4. Before, say, lvl 60, critical damage/chance is not quite as important as it will be later. So as you're leveling to 60, you should put rubies in socketed weapons. When you start getting jewelry that confers significant critical damage/chance, you'll prefer emeralds.

5. On the way to lvl 70, yellow items are your friends. Some can be quite powerful, especially the jewelry. Often, they'll outperform legendary drops. Don't automatically destroy them for crafting until you're comfortable doing greater rifts in Torment 4 or above.

6. Every legendary item does something valuable, especially in combination with something else. Just saying.

7. D3 has changed quite a lot. Every class is now very strong and pretty well balanced.

8. Develop good habits, like chewing your food slowly and watching Robbaz every day.
