The more I think about the game, the more I love it. I've realized the soundtrack has a significant effect on the mood of it. I've appreciated what music has done for other games before, but I haven't experienced the impact it has had to the extent it does in Outer Wilds. No doubt it's due in part to being more noticeable since there aren't many other noises to drown it out, but that's secondary. When you discover a new major area that unearths a part of the story, I found that the music did a great job of creating a sense of both significance and melancholy over your findings of the remnants of fantastical creations from a [redacted], while leaving you with little else to do except to wait to die just to experience it again somewhere else.
