ok im finally playing morrowind
its pretty good
i never had to patience with it earlier
its more of an approach with me, really
the mods are truly great
graphics are pretty impressive, but all the small things also really come to shine. the larger font mod is superb with the larger MGE UI scaling. it really looks nice and makes reading the wikipedia dialog so much more enjoyable.
but two things are still very irritating for me. really more so than any other game ive played. the sound effects... it sounds like im playing a really cheap childrens game for ages 5 and under. and of course, those animations for melee... worst ever.
fortunately my other complaints have been moded away. the character models, with those terrible shit two piece arms and legs. really cant believe this was ever considered exceptable. but a simple body mod replaced those greatly. however i did not mod the faces, i prefer the original jank. they add character rather than distract in disgust.
and the icons have also been replaced, this mod also impressive. the icons are replaced with better versions of the originals, with more clarity and very slight alterations to provide more detail. it resembles something bethesda would officially produce.
very tasteful.
overall the game looks resembles a quality hd version of the original
some nifty gameplay mods thrown in too. auto arrow equip scripted with the latest experimental lua thing. it works quite well for my thief.
various other tweeks. modded runspeed just at the right level and can be scaled back as i progress.
fatigue which does not drain while running but drains normally otherwise. no change to magicka. no arrow weight. some prostitution mods, and the latest version of tamriel rebuilt, which has a large portion of the east totally complete.
roughly an additional 50% of the landmass of morrowind complete with quests and npcs. also done very well, exactly like an official expansion in quality. if not better. very few user made mods for games accomplish this.
i believe overall, with everything, this is by far the best way to experience morrowind for the first time.
very much worth the wait
oh and xbox1 gamepad/keyboard chatpad support with controller companion app works flawlessly.
