RE: frens...
Now is the critical time in the game, when I need money but can't yet start taunting ordinators into fights. I need money for training (not much, just enough to survive one or two fights). But . . . and this is important . . . I must also have bribery money. Since I can't spend too much on Speechcraft training, I must rely on bribing ordinators to raise their disposition.
You may ask, "Why do you want to raise ordinators' disposition, Sim? You're just going to fight them in the end." Ah. I'm glad you asked. The reason is that ordinators don't like you in the first place, so their disposition rapidly goes to 0 when you taunt them. In the real world, a 0 disposition would be more likely to incite the person you're taunting to anger. In Morrowind, a 0 disposition is more likely to make them dismiss you instead of lash out at you. Once an ordinator is at 0 disposition, it's almost impossible to raise said disposition without resorting to bribery. Also, you have to offer them larger sums of money because even bribery will start to fail.
Is it clear now? It takes lots of money to goad an ordinator into starting a fight with you.
"But Sim, why don't you just attack them? Wouldn't that do the trick?"
No no. They must initiate the attack if you don't want permanently bad results. Go to the internet to see copious complaints about ordinators in Vivec attacking players on sight. This is because the players did not use the methods illustrated above.
tl;dr: I need a good sum of money for training and bribery so I can taunt ordinators into survivable fights so I can start making gigantic sums of money.
