As I said earlier, Bethesda worked hard on Oblivion. I agree that the characters were better than in Skyrim. If nothing else, Oblivion is a character- and story-driven game.
I did everything there was to do in Oblivion. Everything. Every side quest. Every dungeon. I covered every inch of ground. I've been playing Morrowind since it came out, and I still haven't seen everything and certainly haven't done everything. Oblivion was an achievement. Morrowind was a masterpiece. It's the Paradise Lost of vidya games.
