come to think of it, guys 290x probably had different ram
gpu manufacturers these days get their memory from all over
or more like tsmc gets memory from all over the place
my gtx 1070 has the plebby micron ram, as opposed to the normal samsung, which does not have the proper bios profile and is something nvidia refuses to update, so i cant overclock my ram beyond 400 additional mhz or something like that
but i highly suspect the 290x had the same setup where different ram is used and performs shitty in one way or the other
