There's an electronics parts store in St. Louis I used to go to that has a lot of parts/components at some of the cheapest prices I've seen anywhere. I think most of his customers are people building model trains, but the guy that runs the place is the type that will fire up his oscilloscope/logic probe/etc. if you bring in something broken just because he wants to kill time.
The closest place to that here in Kansas City is overpriced with horrible parking.
