RE: Hobbies are stupid
It may here be correctly pointed out that I shouldn't be using acrylics on model cars. The proper thing is to use lacquers, preferably from companies like
Zero Paints
and Gravity Colors in Spain (no link because there's something wrong with their website). Both companies can create custom colors that match the original automotive ones, and both make an excellent 2K clear coat which looks like the real thing.
Unfortunately, I would have to re-jigger my spray booth and buy a serious mask for the fumes. I don't want to go to that much fuss, so I will have to settle for the "Hobby Lobby" look of acrylic paint and the glazed-donut effect you get with acrylic clear gloss. Right now, I'm not that serious about realism and scale and all that.
