As a certified BFA and (often-) minimum wage housepainter, I pine for the days when carcinogenic mutagens they used to call oil-based paints were legal. they were superior in all ways. Acrylic just doesn't cut it.
And as for tabletop games, I feel like game designers are always looking at the winning mechanics and never the losing or 3rd place mechanics. The very best games never let you know you lost until the end
