RE: Death Stranding
Death Stranding suffers from something I've dubbed "Nonexistious Sequelitis" where the story for the game is structured and presented in such a way that it feels as if this is the fifth installment in a long running series, I missed playing all the previous games, but it's actually just this one game.
Conversations between the PC and the NPCs feel like walking up to a conversation between astrophysicists while knowing nothing about the subject, hoping to God none of them address you as you struggle not to look confused. Having a well defined split between what the PC and what the player knows about the game universe can work, it's just that it takes a good writer to pull that off and boy is it ever not Kojima.
