It must trouble them to have done all that searching for nothing. But the great Big Foot hunters know that not finding Big Foot does not mean you have failed. It means that you have found many places where Big Foot is not, which leaves fewer places where he cannot not be.
It's like Edison and the dud light bulbs. When for the thousandth time you don't find Big Foot, you know one more way not to find Big Foot, and people are still watching and you're still advertising Medicare Advantage plans, so everyone wins.
