RE: period correct in vibrant color
let me be clear, there are not many scenes which are "magic" in the sense of timewarping you.
but these scenes do exist, they are not difficult to spot, you will notice them without much effort.
but there is not much consistency throughout the film.
only the interiors are 100% consistent all throughout.
the "magic" is scattered through a few outdoor scenes early on in the film. and some indoor ones too. but the outdoors ones are the best.
they found a few locations hanging around in the 1970s which time had not changed. not even the paint on the buildings. original exteriors.
though other outdoor scenes you can tell have been hand painted to resemble the period. like a mockup. and average quality ones at that
