Subject: RE: Microsoft buys Zenimax?

Coincidentally, I played some Dawnguard yesterday. It's still idiotic, but I was struck by how impressive Skyrim in general was. The vistas and music are still pretty epic. The dungeons are better than I remembered. The random loot is still crap, and the leveling system remains broken, but the AI is not as awful as it is in the Fallout games. Example: my compulsory follower in Dawnguard is a vampire named Serana. Every time I think she'll get in my way or do some other stupid thing, she simply doesn't. She's right where she needs to be. She also has a pretty good magic attack, so she's actually useful.

But then there's the stupid UI, which wins the Grand Dumbass Prize for being worse than Oblivion's. Some other things annoyed me, but on the whole Skyrim remains a good game verging on greatness. I can almost see why people have been playing it for nine years.
