Subject: RE: Some things I've been working on

The red Mustang was not a good model. You expect having to do some drilling, filing, etc. on just about any car model because their QA is mostly rubbish. This one was so bad I couldn't believe anyone signed off on it.

As an example, you'll notice that the back facia is not flush with the back fenders as it is on the real car, but it was close enough that it would glue on and look more or less adequate. The front facia, on the other hand, was so misaligned that it couldn't be glued. The convex curve of the facia completely missed the size of the concave fender scallop, resulting in no usable contact points. I literally had to reshape the facia just so glue could be applied. Then I had to putty, sand, etc.

That was just one out of probably 80 or 90 problems.

The purple Ed Roth hotrod was a complete mess. Not one part of it fit correctly. I think most people end up throwing it away, but I've always liked that car, so I suffered through it. I am a sufferer, a man of suffering.
