Subject: the 2DS is bad ass

i though the screens would be too small, im coming from the DSi XL which are giant, but the "old" 2DS screens are just fine.

they are beautiful in fact. i felt these would be the best of the 3DS lineup, and they are. ive seen plenty of detailed specs and screen pics of all the 3DS models including the 2DS XL. only the old 2DS has no solid info i could find online.
all my suspicions confirmed --

1:1 pixel perfect display. the only one of the entire 3DS lineup..
and no strange offset "special" 3D pixels, just normal LCD pixels
screen sized is properly in proportion to the low resolution of the system (400x200 native). pixels are grouped tightly and not exploded out like XL models.. which typically have exploded offset special 3D pixels
screen looks amazing and is not too small
unit fits perfectly inside of hand. most comfortable out of entire 3DS lineup

but of course there are some cons..

the colors of the LCD are not perfect. its definitely no OLED. but its nowhere near bad. it looks great actually. im only comparing the color accuracy to top end panels. its not perfect, but nowhere near bad in any sense

only one mono speaker, sound quality is average. not poor.
and the unit is not really portable

but anyway i was planning on returning it for a new2DS XL, but decided to keep it.
brand new system from nintendo, its a refurb but all the components are new minus only the pcb which is probably new stock anyway and just rebranded as refurb.
also, the "new" XL systems use pixel doubling on one of the displays, i think the bottom one which is supposed to be a normal non 3d lcd panel, and they totally screw it up with doubling..

loving my 2DS!
