amateurtip: just get yourself the ~$250 JBL, Audioengine or maybe even some Monoprice powered monitors + foam isolation wedges (for vibration decoupling and aiding in proper-ish speaker positioning) and you'll almost definitely be blown away by how good it sounds. Then at some point down the road you can upgrade to a $130 external DAC and be further impressed. Seriously. Get powered monitors and position them as properly as possible. You're welcome.
