RE: Lots of people in my circle of friends
I never thought the Electoral College was a good idea. It's an eighteenth-century notion influenced by Plato's hoi oligoi saving the day when the hoi polloi make irrational choices. It also makes the states relevant, which the framers of the Constitution were at endless pains to do. The problem is that people in the 21st century want to vote on their phones, get a majority win, and call it a day (which makes me wonder how they can understand the insane seasonal rules of the NFL and American Idol). Anyway, I say set a timer, get your vote in, and zip up the bag. This country put a man on the moon. We can figure out a corruption-proof democratic vote.
