RE: Lots of people in my circle of friends
The media/press needs to improve and if there was one positive out of the last 4 years it was shining a brighter light on that. That being said, the rest of the world and global politics don't care about what our press is saying so much as what our president is doing. To alienate our allies while clearly looking up to dictators as role models isn't the direction a lot of people wanted to go. Unfortunately, that being said, many people are also all for nationalism and will eat up the garbage Fox News for the President pumps out believing we can easily survive on our own and we're somehow still the #1 country in the world.
And I'm not sure what th4t1guy keeps peddling about his conversation circles somehow being the epicenter of what's happening in the world, but I'm very much a moderate (I was all for Yang) that talks openly to all sides of the fence to gauge what's going on and there was one thing in common all Trump supporters had which is that they're much more influenced by fear. There was an actual study done that showed the majority of Trump supporters were shown to have a more active medulla amblagada, and therefor more likely to eat up whatever Tucker Carlson is ranting about that day and use it to influence their vote. I'm sure everyone hear has heard at least one person say, "I'm not that worried about Biden but it's Kamala that really scares me."
At any rate, you're objectively in the wrong if you think the best thing for the country is to hinder progress. The rest of the world is going to continue to leave us behind and what's "good" for us now isn't sustainable. Also, you're arguably objectively in the wrong if you're voting for too much progress too fast, as you can't cram in radical new policies into a system architecture not built for them. So you're basically left to vote on policies that only ruin a little bit of some peoples lives while also progressing us all toward something better. Unfortunately, the best example of that would be hurting the mega-wealthy with higher taxes to fund or reform things like healthcare and the cost and access of education, but both sides are funded by the mega-wealthy so that's not happening any time soon. At least not to an extent where it'll make a difference.
