You're not fixing anything with a conductive pen. You can use it to troubleshoot but it will always be a half-ass repair.
If it's just the one button and rotating the pad didn't help, it could be corrosion/dirt on the board contacts. Rubbing alcohol will take care of dirt. You can clean up corrosion with an abrasive like Brasso, but you should apply a thin plating of solder afterwards, otherwise it'll just corrode again.
